Wineconf 2007 - Zurich Public Transportation

ZVV Journey Planner

Start here: http://fahrplan.zvv.ch/?lg=te (everything after this is in German).

If you know the station names, type them in, otherwise, select "Address" from the from/to dropdowns.

This will take you to a page that looks like this:

In this example, we're going from Hotel Rex, located at Weinbergstrasse 92, 8006 Zurich to Google Zurich, located at Freigutstrasse 12, 8002 Zurich.

Press the "Weiter" button and you'll see the follow page:

This lists the stations near the street address, sorted by distance. The "Distanz" column is the distance (in meters??) and "Min" is the amount of time it takes to walk there.

The "Umgebungskarte anzeigen" button will pop up a map of the area, and "Neue Suche" will let you perform a new search.

Use the checkboxes in the "OK" column to select the stations you are intersted in, then press "Weiter" to continue.

Now we are back at the first page, with the station names filled in. Select the day and time (in 24 hour format) and press "Verbindung suchen" to get the routes and times.

Google Maps

On Google Maps, the public transport stations show up as small blue icons on the map.

View on Google Maps

On Google Maps, (not the embedded box above) the blue icons are clickable and will bring up lanes that stop there as well as their timetables.

Sadly there's no Google Transit for Zurich yet.
