Welcome to the UCLAWUG: Welcome to the home page for the Microsoft UCLA Windows Users Group. Thanks to the strategic educational partnership of Microsoft and UCLA, UCLAWUG has just completed a "merge" with the UCLA Linux Users Group. We're hoping to bring a lot of fresh new ideas to student computing on campus, starting with free giveaways and student discounts for Microsoft software! We know that as a university student, you have a lot of choices in what you use for your productivity and development software. Our independent organization aims to help you choose the right software solutions from the wide variety available to you: Everything from Microsoft Visual Basic to Microsoft Office 2000.

Winstallfest 2000: If you would like us to install Windows on your computer, bring it in to Boelter Hall room 3811 at UCLA on April 8, 2000 sometime between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. We're proud to announce that we've secured a special Windows 2000 educational discount from Microsoft for all UCLA students. We will be selling upgrades from Windows 98 for $99.95 and new installs for $149.95. Once you purchase the software, the installation itself is completely free! There will also be a raffle of a WinCE running Microsoft WinCE and a complimentary license for Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.

New User Night: Wednesday, April 12, 2000 at 6:00 p.m. in Boelter Hall room 3811 at UCLA. This is a chance for those of you new to Windows to get familiar with the system and ask any questions that you may have. We'll be covering file management, downloading, crash recovery, registry editing, dialog boxes, and reinstallation procedures.
