Hi, all.

I'm  looking for advice about choosing of database server for linux.
This server should be integrated with web server. There should be
simple way to write software for both WinXX users and Linux users to
communicate with it.

There are differnt problems for different platforms.

For Linux users: should i use special modules for any programming language
to create user apps for interaction with server, or there is a server
which is using object-oriented databases, and in this way i will have
a possibility to use prepared metods.

For WinXX users: is there a server which contian any mechanisms or
protocols for organizing interaction with it from WinXX box.

Any ideas? It is important to find the best solution for Linux users.
Thereupon using of object-oriented databases is very interesting.
The WinXX users interaction is less important.

Any help appreciated.
