[UCLA-LUG] ide controller card question

This is due to the fact that the current (2.2) stable version of the kernel
does not support UDMA66. AFAIK though, the latest Mandrake release has a
backport of this driver (which is in 2.4). You can do one of three things:
try the latest Mandrake release, try the development kernel, or simply turn
off the UDMA66 on those drives you wish to access. Unless you're
experienced with linux, I do not recommend installing the development
kernel. If you're just starting with linux, then Mandrake should be right
for you anways. I'm not sure how/if you can turn off UDMA66 though... (you
might want to check your computers BIOS settings)
