This depends on a lot of things. If you live in the South
Bay, and do not need a static ip for servers, then the
latest GTE offer of Symmetric DSL 768 kbps for $40/month
sounds pretty good, with a two week wait promised for
installation. I have not checked about pppoe.
If you want a static ip, then PSN.Com will give you Rate
Adaptive DSL 768 kbps with one static ip, and five email
addresses, no server limitations, and a promised
installation in five weeks, and also for $40/month. This is
not pppoe.
You do live in the South Bay don't you? I assume that you
did, or else you would have posted where you do live. ;>)
Your DSL offerings strongly depend upon where you live.
If you live elsewhere, go to http://www.NorthPoint.Com, and
research this on your own, and then go to
http://DSLReports.Com, or something close to this, and read
the user reviews of the offerings in your area.
HTH.
