Well, for the most part, there is no special setup needed
for 111 (you just need kernel code) and 118 (network support,
which is 99.99% of the time there). For 174, it depends on
if you take it in a quarter where they use OpenGPL, or if
they're using Mathematica. Other than that, let's see...
31,32: Unless they're using VC++ specifically, it can be
used for all the coding... only g++/libg++ installation
instructions.
33: Fred, how's your CUSP emulator?
112,130: Nothing special needed
131: Depends on the languages needed.
132: lex/flex, yacc/bison, c complier, etc...
133: Nothing special needed. Thread and java programming can
be done locally... others written locally and tested remotely...
161: Get a LISP interpreter goin'...
180: Compiler, etc...
All the rest either don't need a computer, nothing special, or
I'm not sure about.
All in all, though, there's nothing really too difficult in
setup for any of these classes given a working Linux installation.
Just find the needed software (not always easy) and install it.
Ideally, some cooperation from the professor in telling the LUG
what will be needed will be mutually beneficial...
