if your intention is to keep win9x and NT then the RH6.0 installation should
go ok.
Do custom installation where you have to define linux ext2 partition and
swap partition.  There's an automated install option which will wipe out
everything.

At the end of installation you will need to install lilo which will go into
your master boot record (mbr).
upon reboot, you will see the LILO: prompt.  Hitting the tab key will allow
you to select windows or linux.
Make sure lilo.conf is configured correctly.

The LILO prompt will come up everytime you reboot the system.
I have a lot of OSes on my system so I use System Commander
