I think that some combination of pointers and comments would be good.  You
could also start a subsection of the archives so that people can more
quickly see what has already been commented on.  The point is that we are
taking the piecemeal approach to an HCL and if we organized this
information, it would be a tremendous resource (if only so that the same
questions don't keep hitting the list).
