The LUG can definitely help with this. Many Southern California LUGs
(including us) have recently joined up on a common mailing list so that we
can share event announcements and possibly coordinate joint events. Once we
get a date and a room, I can announce the event there, which would probably
cause some attendance from USC's LUG, etc.

I know of at least one professor subscribed to UCLALUG's announce list who
will likely mention the event in all of his lecture classes.

Okay, here's my opinion. In order to accommodate people who may not be very
near UCLA, I suggest that we do it on a weekend so as to maximize
attendance. So possible dates would be: October 23, October 30, November 6,
or November 13. I think October 30 or November 6, being around "5th week"
and thus hopefully in between people's midterms, might be the good bets as
far as UCLA attendance goes. (But there's always going to be someone with a
midterm on just about any given day.) Then we just have to make sure there's
not a big sports game on the day we choose.
