[UCLA-LUG] hardware compatability lists (HCL)

It seems to me that a very frequent thread on the list is what hardware
works best with Linux.  I know that Sun publishes an HCL for its products
and my inference from all the questions is that the various Linux vendors
do not.  So, would it not be a good idea to put something up on the
webpage about this, perhaps with commentary on which devices, cards, etc.
are hard/easy to install, have bad/good performance, etc.?
